South Africa, 7 May 2026 – Focalistic makes history as the first African musician to collaborate with adidas South Africa, unveiling the FocaForum 2000, a bold reimagining of the iconic adidas Forum silhouette.

Originally introduced in 1984 as a performance basketball sneaker, the adidas Forum quickly transcended the court to become a global streetwear icon, defined by its distinctive strap design, premium leather construction and unmistakable presence across sport, music and culture. Today, it stands as one of adidas’ most enduring silhouettes, continuously reinterpreted through collaborations that shape contemporary style.

Designed as a tribute to Pretoria, the FocaForum 2000 channels the unmistakable energy of “President Ya Straata,” blending premium black leather with gold detailing, pops of red, and amplified design elements. Rooted in his journey from Ga-Rankuwa to global stages, the drop celebrates street culture, creative expression, and the movement that defines Straata Nation.

This is more than a sneaker. It’s a cultural moment.

At the heart of the FocaForum 2000 is storytelling, a deeply personal narrative translated into design. From the map of Ga-Rankuwa embedded within the shoe to symbolic references like the Union Buildings and “Straata Nation,” every detail reflects Focalistic’s upbringing, identity, and rise. The footwear is paired with a range of graphic t-shirts designed in a boxy fit with Focalistic lettering, filled with the streetmap of Focalistic’s hometown contained within. Another design features a Trefoil logo on the chest, completed with Focalistic and 18 branding on the back in a range of colours.

“‘Pitori to the world’ has always been about exporting our culture and showing where we come from,” says Focalistic. “The FocaForum 2000 is an extension of that vision, something people can physically experience. It’s about taking something personal and turning it into something the world can hold. I want people to feel luxury in where they come from, and know that their story is valid.”

More than a co-sign, the collaboration represents a true partnership, one that places South African culture at the centre of the global conversation. Focalistic was involved across the entire creative process, shaping everything from design to storytelling, ensuring authenticity at every touchpoint.
